Chinatown Service Center (CSC) is proud to announce that it has been selected for a second consecutive year as a recipient of the McCourt Partners 2025 Complete Communities grant, which supports organizations making a meaningful impact on local neighborhoods. The contribution will go towards CSC’s Small Business Assistance Program. To mark the occasion, CSC hosted a breakfast celebrating the neighborhood’s legacy businesses and local entrepreneurs.
“McCourt Partners’ continued support allows us to expand access to critical resources for Chinatown’s small businesses,” said Peter Ng, President and CEO at CSC. “Together, we’re not only strengthening individual businesses, we’re preserving the cultural and economic fabric of Chinatown.”
In its first year, the Small Business Assistance Program delivered more than 500 hours of one-on-one counseling, hosted financial literacy workshops and helped secure $350,000 in grants for local businesses. This year’s grant will focus on deepening the program’s long-term impact by tracking job creation and revenue growth as well as increasing access to capital for small businesses.
“Our commitment to community goes beyond development. We believe in partnering with local organizations to help shape places where people can thrive,” said Jordan K. Lang, President of McCourt Partners. “With the Complete Communities fund, we’re investing in people and ideas that strengthen neighborhoods from the inside out.”
The grant will also help elevate legacy businesses like Tin Bo, a longtime specialty store featuring traditional Chinese medicine, teas and herbal remedies. With support from CSC, Tin Bo was successfully registered as a Los Angeles Legacy Business, ensuring its place in Chinatown future.
“The Complete Communities Fund has allowed us to take meaningful steps to preserve our business and our story,” said Jeff Sun, owner at Tin Bo. “But it goes beyond that, support from programs like this help us keep the spirit of Chinatown alive and thriving.”
Awarded to local organizations, the Complete Communities fund is a part of the Chinatown-based McCourt Partners’ broader approach to development, which sees continued investment back into the community in partnership with local residents, leaders and organizations.
